Clinical, Research-grade Biometrics
Biostrap uses a proprietary IR/Red optimal sensor that captures high signal-to-noise and high-resolution photoplethysmography (PPG) measurements from deep beneath the skin, up to 10x deeper than green light, to extract reliable biometrics. Unlike green light sensors used in most wearable devices, the Biostrap PPG signal is not affected by melanin (darker skin tones), tattoos, or other physiological variations.
Raw Waveform Data
Most wearables discard raw waveform data to improve calculation speed but sacrifice data quality and integrity. Raw waveform analysis enables an in-depth analysis of health biometrics using powerful cloud-based algorithms. Biostrap provides export of raw or processed PPG, gyroscope, and accelerometer data to researchers for comprehensive analysis via our remote patient monitoring (RPM) web application.
Biometric data collected throughout the day without environmental context provides limited value and can inhibit reliability of data trends. Trending nocturnal biometric data provides the ultimate insight into positive or maladaptive physiological changes.
