Did you get some self Love this Valentines Day?

I believe the late Whitney Houston had it right.

The Greatest Love of All is a song written by composers Michael Masser (music) and Linda Creed (lyrics). It was originally recorded in 1977 by singer and guitarist George Benson, who made the song a hit,  In 1981, Lea Salonga released her version of the song on her album when she was about 9 or 10 years old. It was 4 years later Whitney made this song her own.

Over the years this has been on my playlist. To remind me through my journey of depression and physical illness that the only person who’s opinion of me that actually mattered was my own.

If I can appreciate and love myself – as Whitney so aptly bellows in her song “I found the greatest love of all inside of me” I will find peace and acceptance of myself for all I am. Illness depression and all.

As I saw fraught men and women in the shop aisles choosing cards and buying chocolate, flowers jewellery..  noted some looked happy and content and some just stressed.

Pleasing our loved ones begins and ends in many ways but surely the best way we can do this is to be present with our loved one.. or if not in a relationship with ourselves. Cook him/her or yourself a meal with love. Make a beautiful card with words form the heart. But most of ll do this often. Make any day valentines day and really know what it means to unconditionally express receive and hare LOVE.

My recipe for last night’s Valentines Meal :-

Steak cooked in butter.

Mushroom sauce made with portobello mushrooms- butter – buckwheat flour pink salt, steak jus and vegetable water a Bulletproof Collagelatin.

A mash of parsnips and kumera / sweet potatoes. mashed with unsalted butter and Brain Octane oil.
