Mechanism

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) raises serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D, the substrate for the
active hormone that regulates immune and bone signalling. K2 (menaquinone) activates
matrix Gla-protein and osteocalcin, steering absorbed calcium into bone and away from
arterial walls — which is why the two are best supplemented together.
