Ordering and shipping
How much does shipping cost?
We ship NZ-wide. Standard rates are $6 within Auckland, $9 for the wider North Island and $9.50 for the South Island, with a $9.50 surcharge for rural (RD) addresses. Orders of $110 or more ship free NZ-wide. All prices on the site are in NZD and include GST. See our Shipping and Returns page for the full rate table.
How fast will my order arrive?
Orders are dispatched by our fulfilment partner within one business day of payment. Delivery times depend on your location. Most urban NZ addresses receive orders within two to four business days. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
Do you ship to Australia?
We plan to offer Australian shipping in the near future. Join our mailing list and we will notify you when AU shipping is available.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this stage. We currently ship within New Zealand only.
Returns and refunds
What is your returns policy?
Your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) are not affected by any store policy. If a product is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a remedy (including repair, replacement or refund) at no cost to you.
For change-of-mind returns, please see our Shipping and Returns page for full details.
How do I return a product?
Contact us at hello@biohacker.co.nz with your order number and the reason for return. We will provide a return address and instructions. Please do not send returns without contacting us first.
Products and curation
How do you choose which products to carry?
Every product in our range must meet four criteria:
- Evidence quality. We prioritise active compounds with published human data and label preliminary evidence clearly.
- Useful formulation. We assess ingredient form and stated dose against the research rather than relying on marketing claims.
- Quality signals. We review available manufacturer testing information and technical documentation, which varies by brand and product.
- Meaningful differentiation. Each product fills a distinct role in the range.
We maintain a deliberately small range. If the evidence changes or a product no longer meets our standards, we remove it.
Why do you only carry a small number of products?
Curation is the point. Large catalogues can make like-for-like comparison difficult. We deliberately limit our range so we can review the evidence and available sourcing information in more depth, then explain how the products differ.
Are these products practitioner-grade?
Some brands we carry, including Metagenics and Pure Encapsulations, are traditionally distributed through healthcare practitioners. Others, including MitoQ and Quicksilver Scientific, are specialist consumer brands selected against the same evidence and quality criteria.
Do you sell your own brand of supplements?
No. We are a curated retailer, not a manufacturer. We select established products from multiple brands rather than creating our own.
Subscriptions
Do you offer subscriptions?
Yes. Active products are available as recurring subscriptions with delivery every one, two or three months. There is currently no subscription discount. Subscriptions can be paused, skipped or cancelled from your account dashboard.
Can I change my subscription frequency?
Yes. Log in to your account to adjust delivery frequency, skip an upcoming order or cancel at any time. There are no lock-in contracts.
Health and safety
Are dietary supplements regulated in New Zealand?
Yes. Dietary supplements in New Zealand are regulated under the Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985. Products must comply with safety, quality and labelling requirements. Our fulfilment partner is an MPI-registered importer and the product sponsor for every brand we carry.
Should I consult a doctor before taking supplements?
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or managing a health condition, consult your healthcare professional before starting any new supplement. Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet or medical advice.
Are your products medicines?
No. All products on biohacker.co.nz are dietary supplements, not medicines. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
