Vitamin C is required for collagen synthesis and the formation of blood vessels, cartilage and skin, and is associated with immune-cell function in research — but oral absorption of standard vitamin C plateaus at higher doses. Quicksilver delivers it as sodium ascorbate in a liposomal system designed to improve uptake of a compound whose absorption is otherwise self-limiting.

Mechanism

Vitamin C is delivered as sodium ascorbate encapsulated in phospholipid
liposomes held in the mouth and upper GI tract. The liposomal carrier is designed
to bypass the saturable active-transport step that limits absorption of standard
oral vitamin C at higher doses.
